Welcome to Smith-Cotton High School

Dear Students and Families,

Welcome to Smith-Cotton High School—home of the Tigers! We are excited to partner with you as we support our students through one of the most important and transformative stages of their lives. Serving students in grades 9–12, Smith-Cotton is more than a school — it is a community where students are challenged, supported, and empowered to grow into who they are meant to be.

At Smith-Cotton, our mission is centered on preparing students for whatever comes next — college, career, military, or life. Our Vision of a Graduate, developed collaboratively by students, parents, and community members, identifies six essential competencies that guide everything we do. These are not just abstract ideals — they are lived experiences here. We provide real-world opportunities for students to grow, lead, create, and contribute. Sometimes that means success. Sometimes it means learning through failure. But every experience is a chance to reflect, improve, and build the skills needed for life after high school.

We believe that learning happens both inside and outside the classroom. Smith-Cotton students have access to a wide range of athletic, extracurricular, and co-curricular activities — all led by dedicated, highly trained staff. Whether competing on the field, performing on stage, building robots, serving the community, or leading student organizations, our students benefit from world-class facilities and endless opportunities to discover their passions and develop their potential.

Thank you for being part of the Smith-Cotton family. We look forward to a year full of growth, challenge, and success.
